At the end of March, we took eighty students from eight schools across Bristol for a two-day visit to Trinity Hall, Cambridge. The trips are designed to encourage applications to prestigious universities from students that otherwise may not have considered that option for several reasons. The students were offered subject lectures and took part in workshops designed to hone critical thinking and improve interview performance.
The students were able to get a taste of life at Cambridge, with tours of the library, chapel and other facilities as well as the opportunity to visit other colleges. Staying in the halls gave a chance to relax with students from other schools, great preparation for the real thing at the end of Sixth Form.
We are grateful to all the staff at Trinity Hall, especially Xanthé Robertson, for making us so welcome and giving students such a valuable experience.
