On 11th March we were fortunate enough to host a visit from Professor Deborah Prentice, Vice-Chancellor of Cambridge University. She was interested to learn how we delivered the University’s HE+ programme across sixth forms in Bristol.
Meeting Year 12 and 13 students as well as a group of Year 9 students, the Vice-Chancellor and her team saw how we encourage students to broaden their thinking and world view in preparation to make competitive applications to prestigious universities. Cambridge is considering widening the scope of the HE+ scheme to younger year groups, and it is hoped St Bede’s will pilot this development.
